Time Magazine honors Castello di Casole, designed by J. Banks Design Group, by naming the resort one of the 100 Best Hotels in the World, ranking prominently on the list at #15.
Among the awards we’ve been honored to receive at the J. Banks Design Group are accolades from the design industry for various projects we’ve completed. When we have news, we file the posts under this category.
Among the awards we’ve received from the American Society of Interior Designers are Design Excellence awards. In 2019, these include a First Place Kitchen, two Second Place Residence over 3500 square feet, a Second Place Residence under 3500 square feet, a Second Place Model Home, a Second Place Specialty Kitchen, a Second Place Hospitality and an Honorable Mention Hospitality.

The 2018 Impact Innovator Award was given to the J. Banks Design Group at the NEXT Conference in Austin, Texas for the firm’s efforts to improve the lives of orphans in Tanzania, Africa, through the Valentine Project. “I would say I’ve gotten more out of it than we’ve given,” said Vanderslice about receiving the 2018 Impact Innovator Award. “You gain so much from these experiences. It’s very much an integral part of our business, giving back. That’s been part of our mission statement from the beginning, but this is taking it to a different level.”
The projects in the J. Banks Design Group’s portfolio have received numerous awards from travel and consumer magazines, such as the Hotel Castello di Casole in Tuscany, Italy, being ranked as Travel + Leisure’s #1 Resort Hotel in Europe and Top 100 Hotels in the 2017 Reader’s Choice Awards. And J. Banks Design received the 2013 Gold Key Award for Best Resort for this project, a Timbers Resort.

Ranked among the top hotels in the world, our project Castello di Casole was named the No.1 Resort Hotel in Europe, No.1 Resort Hotel Italy and among the Top 100 Hotels in the World, at No. 22 in Travel + Leisure‘s 2017 World’s Best Awards.
The Courtyard by Marriott Charleston-Summerville has been named “Hotel of the Year” by the Marriott Courtyard franchise. J. Banks Design Group specified the furniture and fixtures for the lobby, corridors and guest rooms as well as fitness center and outdoor amenities area.
The Island Packet named J. Banks Design Group the ‘Best Interior Design Group’ of 2017. The communities of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton vote for their favorite businesses & services in annual The Island Packet’s Readers’ Choice Awards and we are thrilled to be locally recognized for this honor.
J. Banks Design Group received six 2017 ASID awards from the Carolinas Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. The 2017 ASID Awards celebrate Excellence in Design.
J. Banks Design Group was named 2017 Southeast Residential Designer of the Year Finalist by Atlanta-based ADAC.
Our interior design work at The Standard, James Island in Charleston has been recognized by the International Interior Design Association. (IIDA) J. Banks Design Group received an IIDA Honorable Mention for Multi-Family Residential.
With a First Place Multi Family Residential award from IIDA, J. Banks Design Group continues to take home design awards of merit. Our team was recognized for our work at Wharf 7, a luxury apartment complex in Daniel Island, SC.
