Southeast Residential Designer of the Year
J. Banks Design Group was named 2017 Southeast Residential Designer of the Year Finalist by Atlanta-based ADAC.
At J. Banks Design Group, we are driven to create exemplary interior design for our clients who value beauty, gracefulness and authenticity.
Our projects vary from country clubs, golf clubhouses, hotels, spas, restaurants, condominiums, apartments buildings, resorts and residences. Among the residential projects we have completed are WaterWalk at Shelter Cove Towne Centre in Hilton Head, for which we designed all of the common areas, including the clubhouse, leasing office, wellness center and business center, and make all hard selections for the individual apartment homes.
The clients wanted the new multi-unit property to have a resort feel, without being too trendy or whimsical. The color palette includes bold yet sophisticated color and was inspired by local oyster shells and sky views. It was designed to give the space a light and airy feel. The monochromatic color scheme reflects variegated tones of blue from the water to the horizon. We mention this project for this tag because it is an example of how we take the setting into consideration each time we produce a project—the materials and color palette for this project quintessentially oceanic.
To create a resort feel, we used unique products that you wouldn’t normally find in a residential setting. We took the colors and textures found in traditional Lowcountry homes and added a modern, sophisticated twist. For example, in the club room we used ombre wallcoverings, going from white to navy, to evoke a skyline view instead of traditional artwork. In the leasing space paid homage to the Lowcountry with an oyster shell fireplace, but instead of using the traditional tabby, we used stacked shells to give it a more modern feel.
