A sorority house is more than a residence—it’s a living symbol of sisterhood and one of the most powerful tools for attracting and retaining members. It’s where young women build lifelong friendships, experience chapter traditions, and form their strongest college memories. During rush, the house makes a lasting impression—becoming the physical expression of your chapter’s identity.
At J. Banks Design Group, we’ve completed and are currently designing sorority homes across the country—each one with a unique look and feel that reflects the character of the chapter and the culture of its location. Our approach is grounded in honoring both national traditions and local identity, creating a strong sense of place that resonates with members and guests alike. No two houses are the same, because no two sisterhoods are.
With nearly 40 years of experience designing for leading clubs, resorts, and residences, we understand how to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful—on time and within budget. As a firm with a 50/50 commercial and residential focus, we bring a well-rounded perspective to every project.
Our design philosophy, home is resort, resort is home, blends the comfort of residential living with the elevated experience of luxury hospitality. The result is a house that supports sisterhood, enhances daily life, and helps drive membership growth.
We’d love the opportunity to help you reimagine your sorority house as a place where connections deepen, traditions thrive, and future members feel at home from the moment they walk in.
Featured Projects in Sorority Interior Design
Our work in sorority interiors has taken us across the South and beyond—partnering with national organizations to craft spaces that elevate campus presence while strengthening member engagement. Each project is custom-designed to reflect the values and identity of the chapter it represents.
Delta Gamma – Florida State University
At Florida State, the Delta Gamma house was designed to reflect both the timeless values of the organization and the vibrant spirit of campus life. The interiors pair performance materials with layered details to withstand high traffic while remaining warm and welcoming. The result is a gracious home that makes a powerful first impression during recruitment—and continues to serve as the heart of chapter life year-round.
Delta Gamma – Mississippi State University
Delta Gamma at Mississippi State called for a classic yet forward-thinking design. Drawing inspiration from Southern collegiate architecture, we incorporated elegant finishes, custom lighting, and tailored furnishings to create a setting that supports gatherings of every size. The home balances tradition with modern functionality, offering both formality and comfort in equal measure.
Kappa Delta – Texas Christian University
The Kappa Delta house at TCU reflects the unique style and strength of its chapter. Here, we introduced soft, natural textures, clean lines, and regionally inspired accents that celebrate both the organization’s heritage and the Fort Worth setting. From the light-filled chapter room to quiet study spaces, each area was designed to foster connection, comfort, and pride.
In Progress: Kappa Delta – Samford University
Currently in development, the Kappa Delta house at Samford University is an exciting new expression of our sorority design work. Thoughtfully planned for scale and function, the project will integrate resort-level comfort with collegiate charm—creating a welcoming, aspirational environment for both current members and future generations.

In my travel as of late, I’ve been tracking a quiet but confident comeback in tambour paneling. Once reserved for mid-century cabinetry and vintage roll-top desks, tambour has recently re-emerged in a more elevated, architectural form. And it’s showing up in some of the most thoughtfully designed spaces across the globe. Just last month, I […]

Colorado luxury ski resorts. In 2007 this meant plaid, log cabin features, cowboy art, and a lot of leather. This design aesthetic is beautiful- evoking warmly shot Ralph Lauren ads and grandpa sweaters, but it’s been done before. And that was the issue. Timbers Resorts was building a brand-new resort at the base of the […]
